Here we have -hot of the video workstation- a preliminary video, showing a bit the mood and philosophy that was behind this year’s Classroom of the Future. It was originally produced in German, but is subtitled in English and is being translated and will be available soon in English as well.
This year’s Classroom of the Future by we.learn.it and the Frankfurt Bookfair could build on partnerships with Samsung, LEGO Education, Vitra, Westermann, the Geomar Research Center, Schau Hin! and many others (Staatl. Fachingen, KIKU, ISAAQ, Caroma Caffe). Around 1000 school kids conducted workshops in we.learn.it expedition fields such as creating audio stories, digital journalism, graphic novels, sea pollution, earth observation, exploring Finland or robotics.
It also introduced a new expedition topic: students cooking for students. This topic was organized by The School for Cooking and Pastry ‘Emma Hellenstainer’ from Brixen-Bressanone in South Tyrol-Italy. Master cook chef Helmut Bachmann and Master Pastrychef Hubert Oberhollenzer and 6 of their students jointly created meals on each day together with other we.learn.it school students. This was also closely documented by our digital journalists.
We practiced in this context also that bridging between different school types is possible such as vocational schools, primary and different high school types. All we.learn.it expeditions were conducted in collaboration of student teams mixing contributors across schools and backgrounds.
