On November 27th, 80 young people from 6 schools gathered together at Statistics Finland to present and compare their statistical reseaches within learning expedition “Kids own statistics”, in Finnish “Tilastro.fi“. These reseaches were conducted during last three months at schools.
Each study was presented followed by lively discussion by audience. Two experts from Statistics Finland provided comments and recommendations for future studies.
The audience voted Puotila school poster as their favourite, and the experts selected Sipoonlahti school study to be rewarded. Both schools were awarded football. The prizes reflected the results of one of the studies by kids: “What kind of (sports) facilities would you like to get for breaks in school yard?” The most desired was – football.
